Dalí Universe is housed at County Hall, the former headquarters of the Greater London Council (GLC).

The gallery is devoted to the works of the Catalan Surrealist artist Salvador Dalí , 1904 - 89.

From the entrance lobby, with useful biographical information, is the main display area with the exhibits, displayed in a sequence of spot-lighted black-painted spaces.

The gallery is arranged according to themes: 'Dreams and Fantasty', 'Sensuality and Feminity' and 'Religion and Mythology'. These works date from the 1960s to 1980s but the gallery also has classic Surrealist bronze sculpture from the 1930s, when the artist was at the peak of his fame.

A highlight is Dalí's crimson-satin sofa made in the shape of Mae West's lips.

The series of multiple-edition bronzes on display at the gallery were commissioned from Dalí by Benjamin Levi, the President of the Straton Foundation, and curator of Dalí Universe.

The gallery also has a collection of the artist's book illustrations.
